"We Were Vaguely Saints" snags your attention at the start with a pulsing drum and fuzzy guitars dancing over and around that beat. The frenetic pace of the music matches the vibe of the lyrics, which sound like poetic desperation.
Among Legends, although a small band, is trying to gain recognition through their values. Their morally conscious initiative sets them apart from other bands. Their DIY aesthetic and fun guitars combined with cheering, catchy hooks on songs like “Flatliner” are sure to push this band forward. Community is a very important thing that the pop punk scene needs, and Among Legends are a positive addition to it.
When I played track one of “Starting Over”, I was kinda blown away. These guys fit exactly where they say they do. Right smack in the middle of the pop-punk scene. “Starting Over” is full of anthem-style songs that you would totally expect to hear from any band on a tour sponsored by Mountain Dew. (Full article)
There is something about them that stands out. You can tell through their songs that they have the energy and passion that bands in the genre need to last. I’m definitely keeping an ear out for them in the future.
